IC5067 or the
Pelican Nebula is about 1,800 light years away in
the next arm of the galaxy, the Cygnus Arm. This
nebula has a bunch of cold gas (top) being changed to hot
gas (bottom of photo), the boundary between these two is known as an
ionization front. Dense tendrils of cold gas are
visible in this photo along the front. |
