Pelican Nebula (IC 5067) in Cygnus

Technical Details Telescope: C11 Mount: MI-250 Camera: SBIG ST-10XME Filters: None Dates: August 17-18, 2006 Exposure: RGB 8x5min each for 120 mins total, plus 12x6min (72min) Lum for 192 minutes total at -20C Notes: IC5067 or the Pelican Nebula is about 1,800 light years away in the next arm of the galaxy, the Cygnus Arm. This nebula has a bunch of cold gas (top) being changed to hot gas (bottom of photo), the boundary between these two is known as an ionization front. Dense tendrils of cold gas are visible in this photo along the front.
