The clouds cleared with less than 10 minutes of totality left in the eclipse, I
manged to get a few shots of it, here's my first:
Lunar Eclipse.
I've been taking pictures with the new telescope, and haven't had a lot of time
to post the pictures, so I'll see if I can catch up and start posting more.
So check back from time to time for new pictures.
I took a 13.6 hour exposure of the Andromeda galaxy,
and a new picture of the Horsehead nebula.
I have images of the Orion Nebula, the Cocoon nebula, Comet Holmes, and others still
to process and post. I also have two hours of the
Fox Fur nebula in Ha, I'm hoping to get some color data there soon if the
weather cooperates.

I've started taking pictures with my new telescope, the FSQ-106. This 4" telescope
takes a much wider view than the C11, so take note in the images descriptions which
telescope I was using. The C11 takes pictures that are 11x17 arcminutes, the
FSQ 96x65 arcminutes. The C11 can get about 1/6 of the full moon in one shot,
the FSQ takes a larger area and could fit 6 full moons (if arranged in a 2x3 grid)
in one picture. The moon is about 30 arcminutes across for comparison.
I still haven't finished the email update routine to notify signed in users which
pictures are new for them. So check back once a month or so for updates until
I get that working. |
