M103 in Cassiopeia

Camera: SBIG ST-10XME
Filters: Astrodon LRGB
Dates: October 24-25, 2006
Exposure: LRGB: L=8x4min, RGB=6x4min each for 104 minutes total at -25C
Notes: This open cluster is about 8,500 light years away, and is composed of very hot blue stars which burn up rather fast, this cluster is about 25 million years old, which is pretty young. This cluster is about 14 light years across. The big red star is one of the hot blue stars that has evolved and become a red giant star.
